Nancy graduated from Weatherford High School in 1953, and then earned a Bachelor of Business Education in 1958 from Southwestern State College where her father was assigned as Dean of Pharmacy. She married Bob Gallop, also a graduate of Southwestern, and moved to Oklahoma City to begin her career. For many years, Nancy was a guidance counselor at Edmond Memorial High School during the administration of Sam Wynn. She loved “her Kids” and enjoyed helping them succeed in school and making plans for their future. She continued to follow their success after their graduation. She retired in 1990 to spend more time with her family and grandchildren.
Nancy’s outgoing, caring and giving nature led her to spend much time volunteering at her beloved church, First Christian Church of Edmond where she was a Deacon and served as a Stephen minister. She loved to watch OSU and OU sports, Thunder basketball and following the career of one of her students as he coached the University of Kansas Jayhawks basketball team. Nancy had many friends and she treasured each one of them. Her family and friends were truly blessed by the unconditional love she showered on all of them.
