Nancy E. White Wood Sloan left this world to go jitterbug with Jesus on December 22, 2015. Born and raised in Poteau, OK, attended Poteau High School where she was a member of The Caddy Club. She then left her beloved Poteau and went on to graduate from Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University). She loved her high heels and was involved with CPA Wives, Oklahoma City Metropolitan Association of REALTORS, INC., OKC Ski Club, The Green’s Golf and Country Club and Ladies Bridge Club, Red Hat Club, Book Club and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

I have fond memories of Nancy. We grew up in Poteau and went to Hower Grade School and then Poteau Junior High. My family moved to Fort Smith in 1948 when I was starting the 8th grade. I will always remember Nancy cute giggle and her fun side, but she had a serious side–especially when it came to politics!
I know she will be missed. Carolyn Nelson
