Morris L. Knipe

1931-2016

KnipeMorris Lynn Knipe 85, passed away November 5, 2016 at his home in Edmond, Oklahoma. His Lord and Savior greeted him at the gates of Heaven along with the love of his life, Carol Ann Knipe whom he was married to for 55 wonderful years. In 1931 he was born in Perkins, Oklahoma, a city his grandfather founded. After graduating Perkins High School and attending Oklahoma A & M, Morris served his country on the Destroyer USS E. A. Greene in the United States Navy.

After the Navy, he began his successful career in the civil service at Tinker Air Force Base. He retired at the age of 55 as Chief of Base Administration. Morris touched the lives of many and was loved by all that knew him. He never met a stranger. He loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all.

Morris is survived by his beloved dog and companion Andy; his children, son David Knipe and wife Leslie, daughters Lea Ann Patterson and husband Glen and Mandy Hayward and husband Chris. Grandchildren are Steven Patterson and wife Caroline, Samantha Patterson, Jake and Halle Hayward and great grandson Conrad Patterson.

Services will be held November 11, 2016 at Crossings Community Church Chapel at 11.00 am. Graveside services will take place at the Perkins-Knipe Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma at 2:30pm.

Services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home – Edmond.
