I had the pleasure of working for Mike when he hired me, which started my career at LexisNexis. I enjoyed chatting with him about non-business topics such as his family, places he’s traveled to, his time in the USAF, and our Oklahoma State Cowboys.

My family would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family.

My heart is so broken at receiving this unexpected news. I have worked with Mike for a little over two years. I can still hear his voice on our morning calls and see him sitting across the table from me when we had in-office meetings. He was always one of my favorites. It’s hard to imagine LexisNexis without him.

Knowing how much I will miss him (having only known him a short time), I can’t imagine how much you will miss him. I am praying for your entire family that the Holy Spirit will comfort you and give you peace that passes all understanding through this difficult time; knowing that he is experiencing unimaginable joy, and that in Christ we will see him again.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very sad time. Very fond memories of your wedding day. Know we are thinking of you.

  18. Mark Novak (Connie's brother)

My first encounter with Mike (unbeknown to me, my future brother-in-law) my parents said I had to chaperone my sister on their date. Not really wanting to go, I decided to be my usual pain in the rear little brother. I don’t think my sister Connie wanted me to be there either. We went to the White Cloud drive-in theater a very long time ago. I was only 12 years old and I thought the movie was extremely boring. Both Connie and Mike kept wanting me to go get popcorn, then they tried to get me to go for pop. Next, they said I should check to see if any of my friends were at the movie. I am pretty sure they were just trying to get rid of me. THEN they KISSED; in front of me. Boy was I mad. Nobody was kissing my sister! I then decided I could not stop them so I told them only ten kisses for the entire date. I would count very loudly every time they kissed all evening long. If they went over ten, I was going to tell Mom and Dad. Connie kept telling me to stop, to be quiet, and many other sisterly words. Mike decided to get me on his good side so he honored by demands and didn’t go over the allotted ten kisses. They went on have many more dates and a wonderful, loving life together. I couldn’t have asked for a better brother-in-law. Thank you for taking such great care of my sister and being a part of our family.

Our sincere condolences to the entire family for your loss. May your strength be found in your memories of and with Mike. With Peace and comfort.

  20. Michael Roger…that is what I have always called him or thought of him as. He used to spend summers with us on our farm and paling around with my husband Don, building fences, taking care of the horses, even cleaning the barn! One of the best, funniest times with him and Connie was taking Connie to Missouri see Michael (before they were married) , he was going to be on leave, so we brought him back with us. Umm, I think his real goal was to have Connie all to himself, because we (Don and I) were sent home in a little tiny MG car. They are following in his regular vehicle, but we got the toy car and I was 6 months pregnant. It was a great adventure and we have laughed about driving through Chicago in the middle of the night …in the rain…car leaked, the drivers seat was propped up by the door, because the floor was rusted through! LOL!! I will miss my little brother and his smile and chuckle that often made me think he either knew something you didn’t or he was getting a kick out of the situation. That twinkle in his eyes he would get as he watched and listened.

Little brother, we thank God that he gave you to us for as long as he did. You will be missed but always loved.

Mike was very young when I went to school in Grand Rapids, but I do remember a few times when He made us all laugh
One day when mama was having coffee with a few of her sisters talking and totally absorbed in the conversation. Suddenly one of them cried out and shoved her chair back a few seconds later another one exclaimed someone bit me. Mama looked under the table and there was Mike. He began to bark like a dog and said biting was something dogs do.
Even at an early age he could be very stubborn. He made up his mind that he was going to wear his white shirt. Mama said no. This did not stop the little man (I think he was abt 3 years old) He marched himself into the bedroom, found the shirt and climbed half way up the stairs and proceeded to put his shirt on. The problem was he could not button the shirt as the buttons were really tiny. I remember coming home and mama was sitting at the dining room table laughing. When I asked her what was so funny she motioned for me to listen. And I heard the little man sitting on the stairs and in his total frustration saying damn, damn, damn as fast as he could. I don’t think mama every corrected him. It was quite funny. Of course we did not think he understood what he was saying, but it was a good way to vent his frustration

Connie, we are so very sorry to hear about Mike. He was such a wonderful man – kind to all, thoughtful & helpful to Katie & me. Last night we searched through photo albums & found a picture of Katie in the Teddy Bear dress that you gave her. We’re still searching for pictures from when you & Mike took her to visit Jenn & the farm animals. Prayers are being sent to you & your family.

  23. Gordon Kirkland

Mike was one of those people who you knew you were really going to like the moment you met him. I met Mike in Barbados in 2012. We chartered a catamaran and invited Mike and Connie to join us, sailing along the south coast of the island at sunset. Mike sitting on that boat with a big smile on his face is how I will always remember him.

  24. Diane Kirkland

I was so fortunate to meet Mike and Connie in Barbados in 2012. We were together on three ” grand adventures” over the years. Mike was such a nice guy, especially the year I discovered them waiting for me to come to the pool in Riviera Maya Mexico early one morning.
I was in bad shape, and didn’t know they would be there. Gordon was critically ill at the time and I really needed a get away. Mike was so welcoming and included me in their meal plans and activities, and was great company.
I will really miss such a kind and caring soul. Thanks for being there when I needed you Mike, so sorry to see you have left us too soon.

  25. Connie and Family-
We are so sorry to hear about Mike. We have fond memories of our trip to Barbados and taking the boat ride. Mike was such a nice person. You are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Connie, you, Chris, Jen and your entire family are just like family to ours. There are no words to express our sorrow.
Though we can’t be there with you, please know how much we love all of you, and wish we could ease your pain.
Sending love and hugs until we can give them in person.

  27. Christie and Jeff Steele

Connie and family, I have and will continue to say a prayer for you each day. I want you to know I am very sorry you and your family have to go through this. I am so glad all of you are so close. Mike was always the kindest and most helpful person. I am so glad we seen your family this summer.
    Hugs to you all.

Few men have influenced my life as significantly as Michael Nader. Mike was always willing and able to sacrifice his own time to teach me about craftsmanship and home renovation. This may seem insignificant to some, but to me it has meant the difference between quickly making repairs versus waiting days for someone to repair a number of tile, cabinet, and the occasional late-night plumbing issue in the homes we have occupied around the world during our 21 years in the Navy. When I was in a tight spot looking for a vehicle to take to my Senior Prom, Mike gladly let me borrow his truck; I remember being so nervous about asking for such a big favor and Mike agreed without hesitation…I was absolutely floored when he said yes. I looked forward to coming to your home on Christmas mornings because of the joy that each of you displayed toward one another and your willingness to accept an outsider as part of your celebration. I want you to know that I will always think of both of you as a second set of parents and that I am prayerful that God will assuage the pain you and your family are feeling at this moment, but I also want you to find comfort in knowing that Mike is in the presence of Jesus. We love you all.

  29. Donna Miller

I remember the first time I met Mike. I thought you had a hunk of a man and as I talked with him was so impressed with his kindness and knowledge. Always looked forward to seeing the two of you together because it brought back beautiful memories of my relationship with my soulmate. You two were blessed in that you were able to travel, make all those memories, and you have the pictures to remind you as well. I pray that you and your family will find the healing peace that GOD has to offer. Love and prayers❤️

  30. Barney Kaminsky

Mike was a truly good guy to the core, a good human being through and through. I have lots of good memories working on the programming team at Lexis with him and the rest of the crew. Mike was consistently even keeled, sane, smart, positively upbeat and fun to be around.

It’s so deeply saddening that he succumbed to this dreadful disease when he had so many good years yet to live. My sympathy to Connie and the kids over his loss. The good memories live on with many of us. Barney

  31. Katrina Franklin

My prayers and condolences to the family! Mike was just an overall genuine good person. Whenever I had any issues at work (LN) I could count on Nader to come through for me every time with no complaints. He will be missed and forever in my heart. Rest in Peace Mr. Mike Nader!

  32. Patrick Moore

I had the great pleasure of working with Mike for over 10 years. Not only did we work great together, we became good friends. We walked the mall of our building twice a day for years, talking about almost anything. We shared common interests in movies, tv shows and DIY projects. Mike and I are the same age, Mike being 16 days older. Whenever we volunteered for community work, we partnered up together. We shared many birthday lunches together at work for many years. I will miss the conversations we had. Mike will be greatly missed.

I am looking forward to seeing him again in the future. God Bless the entire Nader family.

  33. Mike and I are same age cousins of twin mothers. I always loved getting together with the Naders. Mike and I often got away from our “little sisters” by playing Monopoly upstairs.

I have fond memories of Mike. He was a gentle soul.

  34. John and Maria Sena

We are so very sorry for your loss. We wish you strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

  35. Shannon Craig

Incredibly sad and at a loss for words.

I have worked with Mike for a little over 13 years. He was patient, kind and always had a smile on his face. Mike never met a stranger and found a way to start a conversation with anyone and everyone. He made people feel at ease; whether that be with people in the building, new and seasoned colleagues, or anyone (including myself) that needed his knowledge or advice. He loved talking about his family and the special occasions or vacations they had.

He is and will always be – greatly missed!

Love and prayers to his entire family. He loved you all so much!

  36. When Mike was about 7 and I was 10 I took a cigarette from moms pack, went on the hill behind the house to smoke it,
so I took a few puffs and started coughing and choking, then here comes Mike so I made him take a few puffs so he would not tell on me, then we were both coughing and choking, that’s probably the last time either of us ever smoked again.
I have lots of good memories but I am going to miss you, your big sister, sheila

  37. Philip and Linda Anderson

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. We are so sorry for your loss. Mike was such a nice man. Although we never really had that many conversations, I could always see he was an amazing father, husband, and friend besides so many other titles. His family meant the world to him. We feel very blessed to have the Nader family in our lives.

  38. Donna and Russell Kipp

Connie, you and your family are in our hearts ,thoughts, and prayers. We are so grateful we were able to see your family this summer all together and see the love you have for each other. You could see the love in Mike’s eyes for his family and his smile. Sending love, prayers, and strength to make it through this difficult time.

  39. Michelle Schmitz

To say that Heaven has gained another Angel is an understatement. Mike gave his time, compassion and knowledge to those in need. While I only knew Mike in the work setting, he was truly one-of-a-kind and taught me so much that I could never thank him enough. His family and friends outside of the LexisNexis world should know that Mike was admired and adored and his dedication was unparalleled. Prayers and love to his family and friends who knew him best.

  40. Sidd Surapaneni

I was lucky enough to work with Mike for over 4 years in LexisNexis and got a chance to see what a great and kind person he was. I will miss him dearly and wanted to extend my sympathies to the family.

  41. Dr. & Mrs. Charles C. Owens

    Connie and family,
Our hearts and prayers are with you in the lost of Mike. We still can’t believe he is gone. He was a kind and thoughtful person. We loved him from our first meeting. 42. Merv Cornelius

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Mike for many years. He was both a kind and caring person as well as very knowledgeable in his field of profession. My deepest condolences go out to you.

  43. Debbie and Richard Forshee

Richard and I are holding you in our hearts and prayers Connie. I am so sorry for your families loss as Mike seemed like the best husband, father and grandfather. I think I have met Mike once or twice but I know how happy he made you and your family. Please know we are here for you and also know we are good friends not just clients. We love you and know you have gone through a lot of loss in these last several months. Be kind to yourself and lean on those that care for you…..

  44. Doug, Barb & Kenneth Perkins

    Connie, Jennifer and Chris,

Our hearts are broken. It is so hard to lose Mike. He is the anchor of the family and has such life. His devotion is such an example to all. Doug and I remember when we were working on being able to adopt Kenneth. There was a point when we had a setback and we were not sure the adoption would be successful. We bumped into Mike and Connie at Mitch Park and he had such confidence that everything would work out. It gave us hope. Family is so important. It is so evident from how Mike lived that he cherished family. Our prayers will continue because Mike will continue to be an example of how to live and love life.

  45. My condolences to the family, of whom Mike always spoke so fondly. He was truly a great mentor, coworker and friend. I always enjoyed his stories about vacations, the military and loved ones. He will be sorely missed by myself and many in the LexisNexis family. My thoughts and prayers to you all.

  46. Jordan Sallaska

I am truly at a loss for words. I worked with Mike for 15 years at LexisNexis. I got to know Mike throughout the years and felt like his daughter or a niece that he enjoyed picking on. I am so incredibly sorry that the world has one less amazing person in it. He was a good man. My sympathies to his family and friends who all loved him.

  47. Victoria Nader

Dear family, I have put this off as best I could, waiting until the very last. I don’t want to do this. I don’t. I think one of the best times I had laughing at Mike (don’t judge me, I’m a little sister) was during one summer we were at Don and Peggy’s and Don talked Mike into riding a cow. I still hear Don saying, “yeah, you can ride cows, just jump on up there”! Mike was a little wary but, I think he was dared just enough. So, in true Nader style as we don’t do anything without gusto. Mike took a step, hop and jump with both of his hands landing on that cows rear axle (You know what I mean!). Apparently it wasn’t in the cows schedule to be ridden that day because she bellowed, did a side-step dance and launched Mike. I would like to tell you how far a Nader can fly……but I can’t. I couldn’t stop laughing enough to see. I had tears streaming down my face I couldn’t see anything. BUT, my dear brother decided to try again. He walked himself over to that cow and calmly turned around and said, “forget it”! He never knew that this memory of him is one I sometimes use to cheer myself up with. I wish he did.

  48. Mary Leigh Nader-Young

The same as Auntie V, I too, have been putting this off because I didn’t want it to be real. I have many early memories of Uncle Mike , and I will cherish them forever and remember how truly BLESSED we all have been, to share in the closeness and all of the family time we ALL spent together when all of us ( cousins) were growing up. I may have been only 4, but I do remember walking down the aisle at your wedding, as the flower girl with Brian. To this day I still have the rose candle, that you both gave me that day ! I remember being in bed when my parents got the call that Aunt Connie was pregnant ( when you lived in Hawaii) and they shouted it through the house, so even us girls, who were in bed, could share in the excitement !
When I lived in OKC, my BEST, FAVORITE times, were sharing days with you all, at your home. We had Niko’s birthday party at your house, HULK was the main theme that year 🙂
We had fabulous food, every time we were together….. and made even better memories … you showed the boys the BB gun to keep the squirrels away, we played…. who could handle the Harry Potter every flavor Jelly Belly’s ( YIKES) .. we walked your property and the boys got their first TICK … LOL … and many more memories that I keep dear to my heart!!
Auntie Connie, Jennifer and Christopher, my heart hurts for all of us… but it breaks for you !
Auntie Connie, Your and Uncle Mike’s, love for one another, was truly, my favorite love to witness !! …and you both have always spread the love all over our family… I just want to give you the biggest hug right now !
Uncle Mike, You were the calm, the fun, the smarts.. the list goes on and on… and you always showed your love, no matter how long or far apart, any of us were! I will miss you tremendously… We always think we have more time to see one another, and that will always be a regret in my heart now !!
I don’t know how to end this.. so I will just say.. I LOVE YOU ALL !!

  49. Deepa Mattewada

I worked with Mike for a few months. I know him as a kind hearted, hard working, loving, and full of positive energy that its presence just felt very nice. I was learning about the project and he would explain me in so much detail and no matter if it was afterhours, he would work with us. I remember when we would be conversations and someone is going very fast, he would say Hold on, let me process it and then go in details. He would draw charts for us. He will be always missed. Prayers for his soul and family!

  50. Judy K. Stevison

    Connie, Jennifer and Family,
My heart hurts so deeply for Connie, Jennifer and all the Loving Nader Family and Dear Friends!!!! Mike was such a thoughtful and genuinely kind man that adored his Beautiful Connie and Loving Family!!! He will be missed by so very many!!! Sending Love, Hugs and prayers to all!!!!????

  51. David Nordahl

I’m grateful to have had the opportunity work with Mike for so many years. The amount of patience, warmth, positivity, supportiveness, hard work, and persistence he demonstrated in the office every day I always found comforting and inspiring. It seemed no matter what was going on, I could always look in his direction and find the same unwavering calm, helpful, and positive nature.

During times of struggle and hardship, I will draw from my memory of his kind and resilient character to find inspiration and solace. He will be greatly missed.
