Michael Charles Mitchell

1947 – 2024

Michael (Mike) Charles Mitchell was born September 03, 1947, in Bristow, Oklahoma to Dayton Eugene and Mary Claire (Lewis) Mitchell. He peacefully left this world on November 3, 2024, to join the Father in his heavenly home. Mike’s last days were spent surrounded by his family and friends.

Mike graduated from Drumright High School in 1965. He then continued his education at Oklahoma State University, earning his bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Administration. During this time, he served his country as a member of the Army Reserves where he earned the rank of Sergeant First Class. After graduation, Mike entered the food service industry which led him to manage catering service with American Airlines in Chicago, IL. He spent 15 years with American Airlines before his career led him back to Oklahoma where he joined his brother, Don, into the world of audio cabinet manufacturing. During this time, Mike returned to Oklahoma State where he earned his master’s degree in human resources. His experience and education led Mike to form his own manufacturing company with his brother and son, Jason, that continued to his retirement.

Mike enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, and traveling with Karen in his classic Corvette. Mike was a member of many organizations and clubs over the years and especially enjoyed his time working with his Church.

A favorite place for Mike was attending services and singing in the choir at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond. It was in the church where he met his future wife, Karen. They were married in the church on December 18, 2010.
