July 4, 1956 – March 3, 2023
Michael Charles Homan was born on July 4th, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, to Richard Charles Homan and Billie Margaret Montague. He went to be with Jesus on March 3rd, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at his home, knowing how very loved he was, with his precious cat Flo by his side. He was the best Dad, and the greatest Grandpa to William Michael, Benjamin Thomas, Rylee Kathleen, and Reagan May. We are shattered, but we are so very thankful he is no longer in pain and has been reunited with his family.
Michael loved spending his free time riding motorcycles, playing pool, and fishing. He always kept a fishing pole and pool cue in his car. He could fix anything and carried a wealth of knowledge from his years in carpentry and construction. Michael was a master at the grill, an amazing cook and skilled baker of banana bread and pumpkin pie. He possessed the greatest wit and sense of humor, with the most captivating laugh. Michael was always looking for ways to make his kids smile, and always there to answer our calls with questions about life. His children, Mary, John, and Anna were his whole world. When he was diagnosed with cancer, his greatest concern was making sure his kids were going to be ok. He was the most selfless, caring man, taking every opportunity to share with us how much he loved us and how proud he was of the lives we had created. He left reminders of himself everywhere, and we feel his spirit with us everywhere we go. He is now our guardian angel who we can call to by name. We will spend the rest of our lives missing him and carrying his memory with us.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Billie, his sister Kathy Byars and her husband Larry, and his brother Rocky Homan. He will forever be lovingly remembered by his daughter Mary Samara, husband Josh, and grandchildren Rylee Kathleen and Reagan May; son John Homan, wife Sarah, and grandchildren William Michael and Benjamin Thomas; daughter Anna Homan and fiancé Madilynn Grimes; his niece Cheri Paroulek and family; and several dear friends.

So very sorry. May his memory be eternal💔🙏
Anyone who rides has a fun, free spirit inside them. If they love fishing, they love nature. Pool playing just rounds out their life. I wish we could have known you.
The Ridgway family sends their deepest condolences to cousin Mike’s family. Although there were many miles between us, our mother Wenona (née Montague) kept in touch over the years with cousins Mike, Rocky, & Kathy. We will continue to cherish fond memories of summertime visits over the many years as we grew up. May happy memories of Mike give you peace and comfort during this sad time. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family always.
Sincerely,
Cousins Nancy, Beth, Lynne, Karen, Richard, & Douglas
