Merle Lee “Billy Frank” Redding, 83, of Luther, OK passed away on December 10, 2017 in Edmond, OK. He was born on May 28, 1934 in Edmond, OK to William Whitney Redding and Gladys Mae (Bittle) Redding. Merle began his career as a welder, then moved on to work as an electrician until he retired. He loved to spend time outdoors, especially fishing and gardening.

Merle was preceded in death by his parents, William and Gladys Redding; sister, Thelma Jones and husband Bob; two stepsons, Elvin and Shawn; great-grandson, Julian Michael Harper-Coker; aunt, Ada Bittle and husband Steve Bachelor; and nephew Billy Jones.

He is survived by daughter, Merle Lynn Burnett; grandchildren Angel Lail and husband Larry of Newalla, OK, Terry Harper and Rachel Dunn of Las Vegas, NV, Whitney and wife Asten Harper of Del City, OK; Step-Granddaughter Amelia Dugan and her son Tyler of Joplin, MO; great-grandchildren, Lance Corporal Tristan Redding-Wade of Camp Pendleton, Makayla Castle of Moore, OK, Larry Lail II, Harley and Alyssa Lail all of Newalla, OK, Gage and Ethan Reed of Del City, OK; nephews, Mike Jones and wife Karen, and Keith Jones; Amy Jones, Laura and David Deitz and their 3 daughters, Lily, Keira, and Alya; Nephew Michael Jones, Jr.; cousin Steve Bachelor Jr.,

Merle will be loved and missed by all.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 15th, 2017 at Gracelawn Cemetery Edmond, OK.

In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
