Simpson, MaryMary Simpson was born in Altus, OK, October 4, 1928, and passed away January 14, 2013, in Golden, CO. Mary met Floyd Simpson in 1945. After her high school graduation, they were married January 15, 1946. Floyd and Mary lived in Luther, OK, where they raised their three daughters. Their family spent countless hours on Lake Texoma fishing and skiing. Floyd and Mary owned a laundry in Luther for several years. Mary also worked at the First National Bank of Luther and retired from Oklahoma Christian College. Floyd and Mary spent their retirement fishing and finding treasures at garage sales.

They were members of the Edmond Church of Christ. After 46 years of marriage, Floyd passed away. In 1993, Mary married Ray Simpson and moved to Golden, CO. Ray and Mary enjoyed their beautiful yard, trips to Oklahoma, and their beloved Denver Broncos.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; daughter, Carolyn Monk; and parents, Joe and Luna Swindell. Mary is survived by her husband of 20 years, Ray; daughters, Kathy Bumgarner and Marilyn Simpson; sister, Linda Dickerson; son-in-law, Ron Monk; and grandchildren, Chris Monk, Pamela and Kevin Reiff, Staci and Chris Hayes, Teri and Kevin Bachhofer, and Melissa Simpson; five great-grandchildren in Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary is survived by Ray’s children in Colorado, Tim, Mike, Ron, and Vickie Simpson, as well as Ray’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our family has been so blessed to have had our mother. Her Christian life has been an inspiration to her family and friends. We will treasure our precious memories.
