Mary Frances Keeter Funston passed peacefully from this earth and woke up in heaven on August 19, 2016, in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Mary Frances is survived by her daughter, Arlene Bayne and son-in-law, Brett; grandchildren, Leslie Womack, Brian Womack, Brenda Chadwick, Ashley Best, and Brandon Bayne; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Monroe Funston; brother, Darwin Allen Keeter; and daughters, Mary Kaye DuBoe and Sue Ann Oates.

Mary Frances was born on October 29, 1918, in Throckmorton, Texas, to Allen Taylor Keeter and Mary Catherine Lily Keeter. She graduated from Thomas S. Lubbock High School in Lubbock, Texas, and attende d Tarleton State University. She married Herman Monroe Funston on October 12, 1937. They raised three daughters while moving frequently in the oil production business, settling in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was an accomplished homemaker, seamstress, avid reader and talented cook. Mary Frances and Herman loved square dancing and playing bridge.

In 1981, they retired to Nacogdoches, Texas, which was the childhood home of her mother. In her retirement, she especially enjoyed her book club and duplicate bridge. She spent the last 4 years of her life in Edmond, Oklahoma, near her family.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2pm on September 3, 2016, at Old North Church Cemetery, Nacogdoches, Texas.
