clip_image002Mary Frances Burton was born on January 15, 1925, in Paris, Arkansas, to Lewis Clements Sadler and Frances Irene Blair. She graduated from Paris High School, attended Ouachita College for 2 years and then graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with Minors in English and History.

She married Charley N. Burton on November 13, 1949. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2003. Mary was the Executive Secretary to the Vice President of the Oklahoma City Division of Magnetic Peripherals, Inc., formerly Honeywell, formerly General Electric. She retired in 1985 after 23 years of service. She then went on to work for the Oklahoma House of Representatives and then the Oklahoma State Senate retiring in 1993. Mary was the Legislative Assistant to Representative Nancy Virtue and later Senator Penny Williams.

With no grandchildren, Mary loved her Grand Dogs; Lexi, Kaizi, Chloé, Zoe, and Paizley. Mary was a member of Quail Springs Baptist Church. She is survived by her only daughter, Jan and son-in-law Win Moran of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A special thank you to Autumn Leaves of Edmond for the loving care she received.

The Family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 29, 2015, at Matthews Funeral Home. Services celebrating Mary’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow on Friday at Oakwood Cemetery, Paris, Arkansas.
