fent, mary ann pic for obit and folderMary Ann Fent, age 89, was born on July 16, 1926, in Luther, OK, to John and Ida Boydston. She went to be with loved ones on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. She worked 30 years in the banking industry and retired as Assistant Vice President at the First State Bank of Jones. She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church of Luther. Mary Ann married Melvin, the love of her life, on June 3, 1946, after he returned from the Navy. Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters – Oma Snyder and Helen Scott and one brother Orville. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Melvin, and three siblings: Florence Kime, Evelyn Porter, and J.C. Boydston and wife Freda. She is also survived by: two daughters, Brenda Tytenicz and her husband, Leo, and Darla Fent and her fiancé, Grant Kelly; granddaughter, Treasure Morgan and her husband, Danny; and grandson Shane Tytenicz and his wife, Luciana. In 1943 Mary Ann was on the only Luther girls’ basketball team to ever win a state championship. She was kind, generous and lovingly cared for her family – homemade chicken and noodles and coconut cream pies were her specialties. She will be dearly missed. A special ‘thank you’ goes to Integris Hospice House and the Fountains at Canterbury for their love and care. Visitation will be Thursday, August 6, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond. Celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 7, at the First Baptist Church in Luther.

    Thinking about you and your family as you grieve the loss of your mom. May good memories and laughter quickly follow the sadness that must be present as you miss the one that you loved.
