Marilyn Charlyne LeGrange Petrauskas

1921 – 2015

 

LeGrange Petrauskas, CharleneCharlyne LeGrange Petrauskas, 93, passed away on April 21, 2015 in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was born on September 21, 1921 in Denison, TX to Charles F and Clara Cloe Stapp Carpenter. Charlyne was involved in many organizations including; Eufaula Book Club, Board of Eufaula Library, Eufaula Hospital, Central HS Girls trio and Criterion Club, Eufaula Hospital Auxiliary (President), Jewel Box Theater, Gridiron, Piece Makers Quilters Guild, (FLEAS) Friendly Lake Eufaula Area Supports – President and member for many years. She loved her ‘girls’ trips for sewing lessons in Tulsa and Murray State. She married William (Bill) Timothy LeGrange at the beginning of WWII. She later married Kazimir (Casey) Petrauskas in 1969. Charlyne was an artist – pastel, water color, and oil. She was a voracious reader, amazing historian of Oklahoma history, very knowledgeable of all the classics. She loved travelling-Venezuela, Caribbean, and a lot of the United States. She enjoyed taking cruises. Her favorite hobby was swimming and sun tanning. She always had stunning hair, makeup, and clothes. She loved her friends and celebrations in Eufaula. She was a seamstress extraordinaire and made clothes and quilts for all of the children, grands, and great grands. We are proud to have some of these quilts in our homes. Her favorite sport was shopping. Charlyne is preceded in death by her parents, second husband Casey Petrauskas, brother Austin Warren, sister Vasta Warren and her husband Robert Warren, Uncle Carl Stapp and Willie Stapp, cousin Michael Stapp, and grandmother Big Granny. She is survived by first husband William (Bill) Timothy LeGrange, children; James Stephen LeGrange (Connie Gayle), Linda LeGrange Stockwell (Richard), Kathryn Annette LeGrange Church (Paul), Many cousins and great cousins, grandchildren; James LeGrange, Shannon LeGrange Bradshaw, Stacey LeGrange, William Patrick Church, Denise Stockwell Adamson, Jennifer Leigh Traugott, Karen Michelle Hill, and Tracey Church. Cousin Pat Stapp and cousin Ann Sightsinger. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the staff at Copper Lake Estates. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The League of the Blind. Services will be at Matthews Funeral Home on Tuesday April 28, 2015 at 10 a.m.
