Margaret June Cain
December 31, 1928 – November 10, 2016
Margaret June Cain, 87, passed away on November 10, 2016. She was born on December 31, 1928, in Topeka, KS, to Presco Nelson and Fern Margaret (Sterrett) Mills. She was known as Judy to her friends and family. She married C. W. (Bill) Cain on February 8, 1949 and they had two sons.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; brother, Jack and sister, Carolyn. Another sister, Joyce, was still born. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Richard and Beth of Topeka, KS; and Mike and Helen of Edmond, OK; brother, Robert and his wife Janet of Mission, KS; grandsons and their wives, Jeremy and Stefani Cain; Jason and Kassandra Cain; Caleb and Paige Cain; and eight great-grandchildren.
She lived in and around Topeka until her retirement from Security Benefit Life Insurance in 1984. In retirement she lived in Tucson, AZ, Wichita, KS, Olathe, KS and Edmond, OK. She was baptized along with her mother and father in 1946 at the Huntoon and College (Central) church of Christ in Topeka and remained a faithful servant to the Lord the remainder of her life. Judy was a strong and loving wife. She was devoted to her husband, Bill, throughout their marriage and the same could be said for him. They set a tremendous example in their ability to adjust to their various trials in life. From a young age, she demonstrated her love for children by helping her mother take care of her younger brother and sister. She loved her sons and raised them well and when they married she warmly welcomed her daughters into the family. When she became a gramma she poured out her love to her three grandsons. When they married she was so excited and told them they made cute couples and, as her memory faded, would get excited all over again when told they were married. Her great-grandchildren have always brought a smile to her face even in recent weeks. Judy was also a great listener and knew how to encourage others.
I will always remember her for her beautiful smile and her love for the Lord. She was am inspiration to me. May God welcome her into his fold.
