Marca A. Manwell-Oak
1938-2023
On July 18, 2023, Marca Manwell-Oak passed at home surrounded by loved ones after a valiant battle with numerous medical conditions. Marca was 84 years old.
Marca was born to Mary & Marine Olea in Shawnee, OK on September 25, 1938. She was one of 11 children. Marca married Phil and together they raised two children, Michael and Julie, until Phil’s passing in 1985. In April of 1994, Marca married Jack Oak and gained 3 sons. The family continued to grow, much to Marca’s delight. 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren filled Marca’s heart to the brim. She was everyone’s biggest cheerleader and confidant. She had the perfect advice, best listening skills, and the biggest heart. Many of her nieces and nephews considered her a mom too. Nothing made her happier than holding the babies. Marca enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, cruises, traveling, walking in the sand, and horse races. Marca could fix just about anything from appliances, glasses to tractors, and raised all sorts of animals including countless dogs, numerous birds, donkeys, llamas, goats, cows, and stray cats.
Marca is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Marine Olea, Phillip Manwell, and nine of her 10 siblings. She is survived by her husband Jack, her children Michael (Mary Beth), Julie (Daniel), John, Mark (Laura) and Dan (Pam), brother Jerry and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, July 24th at 10am at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK. She will be buried in the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, OK.

She was one of our favorite ladies. She was a sweetheart with a very friendly personality. She will be missed.
Marcia was the best. She will be missed by all who knew her. There was always a crowd at her house on holidays. She was a joy to be around and nothing but smiles on her face. She had the best Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts you can imagine and everyone was welcomed by her. Marc was everyone’s grandma.
Marca was my sister in law and was loved by all. She left behind some wonderful memories for her friends and family, she will be missed everyday. R.I.P. Marca, I love you so much…
