Makenzee Elizabeth Highfill
On Tuesday, September 29, 2020, Makenzee Elizabeth Highfill passed away at the age of 47. Makenzee was born on August 21, 1973 in Wichita, KS to Galen and Vivian (West) Downey. Makenzee is the proud and loving mother of two sons, Skyler “Kade” Highfill and Drake Aaron Highfill.
Makenzee received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1995. She is the co-owner of a Medical Spa in Nichols Hills, where Makenzee’s gift for finding and revealing the beauty within anyone was always at the core of her. Makenzee’s passion for family and her beloved boys defined her life. Her boundless compassion extended to the stray animals that she rescued and gave homes. Makenzee will be remembered for her kindness, her infectious smile, and for her compassionate and generous spirit.
Makenzee is survived by her husband of 23 years Aaron Highfill and two children, Kade and Drake, and daughter-in-law (to be) Breea Melton, her brothers Jeff and Charles, her sister, Amy, several cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a multitude of beloved pets.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Oct. 5th at 5 o’clock p.m. at the Edmond Church of Christ, 801 South Bryant Ave, Edmond, OK 73034. A private graveside will be held prior to the Memorial Service.
This service is open to all; however, the family does asks that guests enact all COVID-related precautions that they deem personally necessary. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memoriam to your local pet adoption shelter.
