Maealys Swartzendruber
1923-2017
Maealys Hancock Swartzendruber (Evans) went to be with our Heavenly Father on June 16, 2017.
She was born on July 1st,1923 in Laurel, MS. Maealys married Harold Swartzendruber on June 24th, 1942. They were married for 59 years. They lived in several States before moving to Diamondhead, MS, where she was involved in the Diamondhead Community Church. She was also crowned Mardi Gras Queen of
Diamondhead in 1987. She enjoyed traveling,tennis, golf, swimming and playing Bridge. After her husband of 59 years passed away she was lucky to find love again when she married Captain Jack Levall Evans at the age of 79. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband Harold Swartzendruber and second husband Captain Jack Evans, her Father and Mother Tracy & Lizzie Hancock, brother George Gray Hancock and sister Helen Weitzel, and her infant son Randall Swartzendruber.
She is survived by daughter Sue Ann Conerly of Baton Rouge, LA, Son’s James W. Swartzendruber of Edmond, OK, John C. Swartzendruber of Edmond, OK, Tracy R. Swartzendruber of Edmond, OK, and Kris Swartzendruber of Diamondhead, MS. She was a beloved GrandMother to 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Our Mom & Grandmother was truly a Mississippi Queen.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, OK.
