1944-2017

Mabel “Carol” Monroe, age 72, of Edmond, OK, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer.  Carol was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.  While her family and friends were the most important to her, she also had a passion for dancing, Elvis on the radio, playing games with her friends and family, and making sure her teeth were well flossed.  You couldn’t hold a candle to Carol’s Swedish Tea Ring or Chocolate Sheet Cake.  She was well known for her home cooking.

Carol is survived by her son, Tim Krueger, her daughter, Becky Washam, her grandchildren, Amber Cromack, Garion Washam, and Jovie Washam, and her great granddaughter, Claire Cromack.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 20th, at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK, 73003 at 2:00 PM with graveside services following at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Viewing to be held on Thursday, January 19th, between the hours of 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm.  “As you danced in the light with joy, love lifted you.  As you brushed against this world so gently, you lifted us.” – T.C. Ring
