1927-2015

Lucille Mills Nance passed away in Edmond, Oklahoma on November 30, 2015. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to many. She was born in Meeker Oklahoma.

Lucille graduated from Meeker High School, graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma (Central State College) with a degree in Physical Education. She taught in the Putman City school district before marrying Richard and moving to Albuquerque. She married Richard H. Nance in 1952 in Oklahoma City in the yard at his cousin’s house after they met on a blind date set up by another cousin.  They were married for over 60years. They raised three children.

In Albuquerque, she was a substitute teacher until she started and ran the family business soft ice cream food truck.  After they sold the truck, she sold real estate. She was very successful and she was number one salesperson many months for her company as well as one of the top sales person for the city. After she retired, she became a Master Bridge player. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She started and hosted many of the Harry Mills family reunions.

Lucille is survived by daughter Catherine L Wieland and husband Charles Wieland of Madeira CA; daughter Victoria R Nance and husband Lawrence Doidge of Edmond, OK: son Franklin R Nance and wife Jessica Nance of Houston, TX.; seven grandchildren Ian B Wieland and his wife Allie Wieland of Fresno, CA; Dylan B Wieland of Madera, CA; Jacqueline C Nance of Houston, TX; Thomas A Doidge of Edmond,  OK , Jonathan F Nance of Houston , TX; Christopher R Doidge of Edmond, OK; and Stephen M Doidge of Edmond, OK;  sister and brother; Betty and Bill Koos of Florida; Ab and Jan Mills of Fort Worth, TX and many nieces and nephews
