Loretta Jean Litterell

1935-2022

Loretta Jean Scouten Litterell was born December 7, 1935 to Dwight and Ethel Scouten. She grew up and attended school in Sickles, Oklahoma. After graduation, she moved to Edmond where she met Kenneth Litterell. They were married in November of 1954 and made Edmond their home. They raised three daughters, Debbie, Vickie and Kellie. Jean valued education and received her degree in Home Economics at Central State College. She also held a wide variety of jobs in the Edmond area from Food Service Director at Oklahoma Christian Home to jewelry retailer at Shedrick’s Jewelers, from tailor at Goodrich’s to teacher at Cashion. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Kenneth Litterell, and her great grandson, Maxwell Evan Johnson. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie and Steve Suenram, Vickie and Joe Perez, and Kellie and Jim Monteith, grandchildren Amanda Suenram and Michael Sneed, Scott Suenram, and Sarah Monteith, her great grandson, Owen Suenram Hiler, Gina Perez, Dave Krisky and a multitude of cousins, nieces and nephews. Mom loved traveling and she left on her last trip December 6, 2022, peacefully sleeping in her home surrounded by her possessions with family and close friends nearby.  A visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m., Thursday, December 8th at Matthews Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2022 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery Edmond, OK.
