Loretta Faye Hileman Cabbiness
August 6, 1939 – August 16, 2021
Loretta Faye Hileman Cabbiness was born August 6th, 1939 in Lookeba, Oklahoma to Luther Troy and Hazel Beatrice (Smith) Hileman. She passed away peacefully Monday August 16th, 2021 at home in Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 82. She was raised on the family farm located 3 miles west and 2 miles south of Sickles, Oklahoma. Loretta graduated from Sickles High School where she loved playing basketball and table tennis. After high school, Loretta worked for a brief period of time in Oklahoma City. She married Dale Keith Cabbiness on October 23, 1958. She worked as a dental assistant and secretary in Texas, Arkansas and Indiana as Dale achieved his Doctorate Degree from Purdue University. While in Indiana, she and Dale adopted two daughters before relocating back to Oklahoma making Ponca City their home. Loretta attended and graduated with an associate’s degree in fashion merchandising from Northern Oklahoma College. She worked as a church receptionist and youth pastor secretary for First Baptist Church Ponca City for many years. She served her church working in Vacation Bible School, nursery, Sunday school teaching all ages, and Falls Creek camp counselor. She enjoyed cooking and hosting gatherings, making quilts, playing Bridge, Rook, dominoes, softball and basketball. She was active in Alpha Gamma Mothers Club and the Red Hat Society. She traveled to many different places including Europe, Canada, Hawaii, and the Holy Lands. Loretta was a member of First Baptist Church Edmond, Oklahoma.
Survivors include daughter, Durinda Lynne Cabbiness-Snider, of the home, daughter and son-in-law, LaDawna and Edward (Spike) Frazier of Edmond and sister, Juletta Bertva of Granbury, Texas. She is also survived by four grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews she held dear.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Dale Keith Cabbiness, parents, Luther and Hazel Hileman, and her sisters, Romelda Mooter and Nellie Ruckman.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Interim Hospice for all of the care, love, and support that Loretta received.
A Graveside service will be held at Eakly Cemetary, Eakly, Oklahoma August 23rd at 11am.

We are blessed to have known Loretta. We pray the peace of the Lord surrounds the family during this difficult time, as well as in the days to come.
