Loren Erie Evans passed away August 17th in Oklahoma City after moving recently from Kansas where he had been a lifetime resident. He was born on February 13, 1927 in Harper, Kansas to the parents of Ernest and Ima Evans.
Loren graduated from Harper High School and immediately joined the Navy and served in the Pacific during WW II. After the war he returned to Kansas. Loren had a long, proud, and dedicated career at Cessna Aircraft in Wichita where he worked from 1957 until his retirement in 1993. In retirement, as during his working career, he was constantly busy. His favorite hobbies were tinkering in the garage and yard, always building a better trailer or shed.
Family was very important to Loren who was preceded in death by his brothers Donald and Thaine. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marjorie; his son Gregg and wife Cindy; his daughter Sherri Tollett and husband Charles; his grandchildren Jennifer Anderson & husband Shaun, Sarah Evans, Bradley Evans, and David Tollett; his sister Cleta Allen; his sister-in-law Susanne; his brothers Clinton and wife Liz, Delmar and wife Deanna; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. All of whom fondly remember the many reunions and get-togethers that made this family so special.
A memorial service will be held for Loren on Saturday August 29th at 1 PM at the United Methodist Church in Harper, Kansas.
