1934-2018
On March 10, 2018, Lois Maxine Hoch Atchison, 83, drifted into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a loving wife to her husband, Tom Atchison for 68 years, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, aunt, friend, prayer warrior, and faithful servant of Christ. For 20 years she and Tom were very involved in Metrochurch of Edmond, where she was in ladies’ prayer groups, Bible studies, and various ministries, one of which was the operator of the Metrochurch Bookstore. She went to school and trained to be a medical assistant. They have lived in Edmond for many years and are currently members of Crossings Community Church of Edmond. She loved to read, she operated day-cares, and along with her husband, Tom, ministered to many, throughout the years. Her love for God, her family, and God’s word was a blessing to many. For many years of her life, she enjoyed being outside, riding horses, and being very active.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Jerry Atchison, Jr. (Tom) of the home, her three children, Jodie Atchison Tucker, Oklahoma City, Jay Atchison of Oregon and Jeff Atchison, and wife, Jamie, of Edmond, Oklahoma. Also, her grandchildren, Justin Tucker, and his wife, Corrie of Piedmont, OK, Sarah Nicole Atchison of Oregon, Luke Atchison of Oregon, Kalyn Rachel Atchison of Texas, Lauren Taylor Atchison of Texas, and Ayren Leigh Marshall of Edmond, Oklahoma. She has four great-grandchildren, Isabela Rae, Chord Fonvielle, Jayce Atchison, and Shepherd Atchison. She is also survived by her niece, Debra Hoch Harper, and her nephew, Richard Royce Hoch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Daisy Hoch, her brothers, Royce and Norman Hoch and his wife, Mary Jane, and her niece Peggy Hoch Gallagher.
Her cheerful, soft voice and encouraging, loving ways will be greatly missed. She so enjoyed her children and grandchildren and created many fun moments for which they can remember. For the last several years she and Tom shared reading the Bible and interceding in prayer, daily. At this time, there will be no public service, as the family will be celebrating her life, and the joy of knowing she is eternally alive with Jesus, privately. In lieu of flowers, her husband has requested that instead the money be sent to Crossings Community Church, 14600 N. Portland Ave, OKC, OK 73134 (Phone – 405- 755-2227) in honor of Tom and Maxine Atchison. That would be greatly appreciated.
