1926-2019
Lois Marie Street passed away on May 20, 2019. Lois was born December 23, 1926 in Oklahoma City. She was the daughter of Roland and Georgianna Brown and a lifetime resident of Oklahoma City. Lois graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City and later attended the University of Oklahoma.
Lois was married to John Gray Street for 63 years. Lois was pre-deceased by husband John and son Todd. She is survived by children Madelynn Bartley and husband Gary of Edmond; Joe Street and wife Laura of Amarillo, Texas; and Carol Alkin and husband Martin of Tucson, AZ. Her legacy also includes 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Lois was a homemaker and community volunteer. She and John were long time members of Quail Creek Country Club where she spent many hours playing golf and Bridge. Lois enjoyed cooking and entertaining for friends and family. Some of Lois’s many accomplishments were docent for the Cowboy Hall of Fame, member of Oklahoma City Hospitality Club, leader for Camp Fire and Cub Scouts. She was a volunteer for Mercy Hospital for 25 years and a member of Criterion Book Club and Acorn Book Club. Lois was an active member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and prior membership was First Presbyterian of OKC.
Lois’s passion was her family. She will be remembered by family and numerous friends as a gracious and supportive friend. They will miss her parties, gatherings, and great food.
A private family service will be held in remembrance.
