Lois Ellen Easter
1936 – 2025

In the spring of 1936, the second of eight children, a daughter named Lois Ellen, was born to Bud and Erma Emily on April 11th in their home near Richwoods, Missouri. As she grew up in the Richwoods and Dry Branch communities, she learned about gardening, canning, sewing, cooking and, of course, helping with her siblings. While in the seventh grade at Sullivan, Missouri, she became acquainted with Norman Easter. (He always said it was love at first sight.) On July 19, 1952, they were married in St Louis, Missouri. They were both sixteen years old . Their marriage lasted nineteen days short of sixty-two years. It was said that when one inhaled, the other exhaled. To this marriage, God gave them three children, Chrys, Norm and Kim.
Lois served as a supportive preacher’s wife her entire married life. She was a gifted housewife and full-time mother devoted to her children. An excellent seamstress, Lois made much of her family’s clothing. She was a Bible class teacher for all ages, a camp dorm-mom and counselor. She served in several roles for the “Stepping Stones” and P.T.A. organizations. Her gardening talents were clearly show by her beautiful flower beds and delicious garden vegetables. She was known for her wit, common sense, problem-solving skills, knowledge of plants and her tasty cooking. During her life, Lois lived in Richwoods, Dry Branch, St Louis, Sullivan, and O’Fallon, Missouri, in Pernell, Velma, Tulsa, Lawton, Mangum, Cleveland, Noble and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and in Hutchinson, Kansas. She will be missed by family and friends in each of those communities.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Easter; parents, Bud & Erma Emily; sisters, Sug Emily, Wilma Ruwwe, Jackie Rowe; brothers Don Emily, and Floyd Emily; and, granddaughter, Andrea Ellen Mardis.
