Lisa Del Stroble

1957 – 2025

Lisa Del Hurt Stroble was born on June 16, 1957, in Lawton, Oklahoma, and was lovingly adopted by her parents, Edward “Speedy” and Orlena Hurt. From the very beginning, she was a cherished blessing—her father often said she was the best Father’s Day gift he had ever received.

Lisa grew up in Anadarko, Oklahoma, where she developed a deep love for learning that would stay with her throughout her life. She spent her childhood horseback riding, cheering on her father’s cars at the local short track raceway, and spending time at the family’s service station. She also had a passion for music and found great joy in playing the piano, filling her home and church with beautiful melodies.  Lisa’s faith was a guiding force in her life, shaping the way she loved and cared for others with kindness, patience, and grace.

She moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to attend the University of Central Oklahoma, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in speech and language pathology. It was during her college years that she met the love of her life, John Stroble. The two quickly became close friends, sharing a love of fishing and playing pool together. Their friendship blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and they were married on May 10, 1980. Together, they built a beautiful life and were blessed with three children.

Lisa’s love of learning led her back to UCO, where she earned a master’s degree in education. She was an extraordinary teacher who dedicated 20 years to Deer Creek Elementary, touching the lives of countless students with her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication. She inspired her students not only to learn but to love learning, just as she did. She was deeply loved by both her students and colleagues, leaving an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Outside of teaching, Lisa was a gifted quilter who found joy and community in her craft. Her artistry and generosity were evident in the many dozens of quilts she lovingly created for family and friends. Through her skilled hands, she added the perfect finishing touch to hundreds more, bringing warmth and beauty to those around her.

Above all, Lisa’s faith was the foundation of her life. She lived by example, showing love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Her belief in God provided her with strength and comfort, and she shared that faith with those she loved.

On March 11, 2025, Lisa entered into rest, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her devoted husband, John Charles Stroble; her children, Robert Edward Stroble, Lindsay Renee Stroble George; her beloved grandsons, Teagan Stroble George, and Maddox Mical George; and her son, John Nathan Stroble, and daughter-in-law Rachel Christine Hart Stroble. She was preceded in death by parents Speedy and Orlena Hurt.

Lisa’s kindness, creativity, love for music, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and generosity will live on in the lives she touched.
