1960 – 2024

Lisa Brown, 63, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed to her eternal home with the Lord on July 8, 2024. She was a devoted wife to Nathan Brown, and they were looking forward to celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary on July 19.

She is also survived by her children: son Jeffrey Brown, and daughter Julie Mahanay and husband Tony Mahanay, along with her beloved grandson, Alden Mahanay. Lisa is also survived by her father, Denver Woolsey, a sister, Melanie Bryan and husband Robert Bryan, and was preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Woolsey.

Lisa was born August 4, 1960, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Denver and Yvonne Woolsey. They moved to Oklahoma City, where she was raised attending Putnam City United Methodist Church and graduated from Putnam City High School. She attended both Oklahoma State University and Central State University majoring in biology. She would go on to have a successful career in graphic design for TG&Y and C.R. Anthony’s, and was a department manager for Walmart for nearly 20 years. She made many cherished friendships throughout her career. Her other full-time jobs were mother, business manager for Nathan’s plumbing business, grandma, and caretaker for her parents.

In her free time Lisa was a gardener, artist, car enthusiast, and loved spending time outdoors while camping at the Mulberry River in Cass, Arkansas. She enjoyed talking about her vintage BMWs, Ford Capri and Airstream trailer, and used her artistic abilities in the restoration of them all.

Her memorial service will be at Matthews Funeral Home 601 S. Kelly Ave. Edmond, OK 73003 at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20. Graveside service to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
