1948-2018
Linda Jane Gerlach “Pooh or Ninny” was born May 23, 1948 to Ed and Minnie Newell. She graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1966, and married Truckie “Pops” Gerlach on January 28, 1967
Linda enjoyed cooking, gardening, and bowling and the many wonderful friends she made during that time.
Her bright blue eyes and smile lit up a room when she walked in, but beware, she was always looking for someone to scare, especially Truckie! However, her greatest passion was her grandboys.
Linda left us on September 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Minnie, 2 sisters, Nancy and Kaye, husband, Truckie, daughter, Gillian and 3 nephews, Eric, Tony, and Ronnie.
She will be greatly missed by all of those she leaves behind; especially her son Jeremy & Kim, grandsons, Potter, Eli, Harley and Jake, 4 nieces, Dee, LaVonda, Staci and Stephanie and their families.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Edmond First Church of the Nazarene with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery Edmond, OK. Public viewing will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Matthews Funeral Home.
She was an angel of a woman…since high school, she always made everybody laugh with her devilish stories and attitude. She was a wonderful mom and grandmother…everyone loved her…she will be greatly missed…her memory will last forever. Bye-bye, Linda…I will see you again some sweet day!
My friend, my friend. You said when I lost Mom that I would never come back to Edmond. How wrong you were. I came back to see the only sister I ever had. What am I going to do without you to vent to or laugh with. We’ve had some times and shared secrets and both married good men. I will miss you so much. Go on your journey and be happy and joyful. We will laugh together again some day. We love you. DiAnn
You made me giggle and laugh so often. You always had great insight. You truly will be missed…..and remembered, sweet friend. I will miss you. I will see you again.
Our best times were in school, and bowling. You will be missed Linda RIP Suzanne
Our deepest condolences are with you as you grieve. We yearn for the blessings of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice for mankind to be fully established on a future, paradise earth. (John 3:16; Psalm 37:10, 11, 29) Jehovah God will soon, remove the enemy, death, forever. (1Corinthians 15:26; Psalm 83:18) (jw.org)
May Jehovah ” the God of all comfort ” strengthen your family by giving all of you the peace of mind and heart to endure this most difficult time in your lives for He ” cares about you “as stated in the Bible at 1 Peter 5: 6,7.
