Leslie E. Baker
1937-2020
Leslie Elwin Baker, age 83 of Edmond, Oklahoma went home to his Savior on December 9, 2020.
Leslie was born in Piedmont, Oklahoma on March 29, 1937 to Leslie Ivis Baker and Mildred Frances Thompson. He graduated from John Marshall High School in 1957.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Leslie and Mildred Baker, sisters: Irma Hughes, Donna Caton and Linda Parkhurst and brother, Don Baker.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Rosemary, one son Michael Wade Baker and one daughter Ethleen Smith and husband Dennis of Edmond; special daughters: Sherry Baker of Norman and Pat Watkins of Del City; grandchildren: Adam & Jordan Baker, Aaron Baker, Andrew & Abbie Baker, Alex Baker, Ashley & Josh Taylor, Marcus Smith, Laura Smith, Brandon Smith and Rachel Smith; also seven great-grandchildren; one sister, MaryAnn Pinson of Oklahoma City, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Leslie worked in the automotive rebuilding industry. He was a Master Gardener and an artist whose talent was reflected in his beautiful gardens and paintings. His love of Christ was evident by his sweet and gentle nature. His family and friends will miss his advice on trees, gardens and bird feeding, his witty comments and silly songs.
Visitation will be held at Matthews Funeral Home 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, Oklahoma on Saturday, December 12th from 3pm to 8pm with family present between 3pm and 5pm.
Due to Covid concerns there will be a private service with interment at Mathewson Cemetery in Piedmont.

I was so sorry to see where Leslie had passed away. He was such a kind man and wonderful husband and dad. I know you all were very devoted in caring for him. I am rejoicing that he is with Jesus now. May God give you comfort and peace in the days ahead.
