Anderson, Leah obit cropLeah Doreen Anderson, 74 of Edmond, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, went home to be with the Lord on October 10, 2013. She was born in Osborne, Kansas on July 28, 1939 to Bessie Roberta (Robertson) and James W. Watson. She grew up in Kansas and graduated from Grand Island High School, Grand Island, Nebraska. She attended Doane College where she studied organ music. It was at Doane that she met the love of her life, Dick Anderson.

Leah and Dick were married on July 25, 1959 and they had two sons, Jim and David, and two daughters, Laura and Linda.

Leah accompanied the choir on the organ at Trinity Lutheran Church, Grand Island, NE, gave piano lessons and later on played the organ part time at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Edmond, OK. Her love of music has been carried on through her family.

Leah was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Megan Leah.

She is survived by sons, Jim Anderson and wife Jeanne of Portland, OR, David Anderson and wife Lisa of Midwest City, OK, daughters Laura Hutcheson and husband Dave of Belleville, IL and Linda Anderson of Beaver Dam, VA and a very special friend Molly Sharp of Beaver Dam, VA, grandsons Connor Felch and Jimmy Anderson, granddaughters Jamie Chrysochou, Maggie Felch, and Kayla Anderson, great-grand daughters, Ashleigh Croft, Emily See and Marilyn Tucker, sister in law, Jenice Bates and husband Roger of Syracuse, NE and brother in law Bob Anderson and wife Mariann of Geneva, NE, cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. All who knew and loved her will dearly miss Leah.

Public visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 12:00 pm- 8:00 pm, at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, Oklahoma. A service of celebration for the life of Leah Anderson will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 308 N.W. 164th, Edmond, OK at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Interment will be in the Shickley Public Cemetery, Shickley, Nebraska with the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Agape Fund.
