Lawrence (Larry) Francis Martino

1931 – 2024

Larry was born on January 9, 1931, to Casto and Grace Rossolo Martino in Canandaigua, New York. Casto had immigrated to New York from Naples, Italy. Larry was the only son and he had 3 sisters. While joking with the staff just moments before, Larry died on January 7, 2024, two days short of his 93rd birthday.

His main love in high school was shooting hoops at the local YMCA. He attended the State University of New York where he met Jean Brown. They were married the week before he left for military service. Larry served in the Army in Germany at battalion headquarters as a clerk typist. Following his service, he began his career in business management and sales, eventually owning his own food broker business.

Larry and Jean had 3 children, Pam Mulholland, Mark Martino, and Gregg Martino, all of whom are now deceased. His wife also preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Jacquelyn Brown and his grandchildren and their families: Errin Overstreet (Shelly), James Mulholland (Holly), and Molly Grace Rush (Jack), as well as his daughter-in-law, Bonnie Martino. He has 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his partner of many years, Nancy Brawner and her family, Betsy and Kenneth Kelley and Allen Brawner and his partner David Miller.

At Larry’s request, no service will be held. The family wishes to thank Valir Hospice and the staff at Legends at Jefferson’s Garden for caring for Larry during his last years.
