K.G. was raised in Perry Oklahoma, and graduated from Perry High School in 1951. He enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard that same year and served in Korea in the 42nd Infantry until his discharge in 1952.

K.G.’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his wife and kids, and brothers and sisters. K.G. was thrilled with the birth of his first grandchild in 1981, and doted on all fifteen of his grandchildren. He taught his grandkids to garden, fish, and camp, activities he loved so much.
During K.G.’s years in Edmond, Oklahoma, he was a very active member of the Kickingbird Golf Course Senior Men’s League, serving as President of the club for several years. He made many lifetime friends at Kickingbird, and cherished those friendships throughout his life.

I remember Mr. Franklin was one of the first people I met when we moved in across from them on 32nd St. Edmond . My daughter came home from school one day and couldn’t get her key to work so across the street she went to The Franklin’s all worried and scared . Great guy great sense of humor and he will be missed truly by anyone who met him . Always thought it was so cute the way The Franklin’s communicated with each other when I would visit . Loved talking to him about politics ,sports & farming and I always was trying to get a secret or two about how he grew great looking tomato plants . Prayers and condolences to the family
Terry, this is Sandra, Kerman’s daughter. Thank you for all the help you gave him when he wasn’t able to get around as well. He truly appreciated you and your entire family.
Kermit was a kind considerate man with many friends. We have missed his presence at Kickingbird and have shared many memories with our fellow senior members.
My dad loved all of you guys. You made his
life special.
I only had the opportunity to meet my wife’s Grandfather Kerman once, but it was enough time to create long lasting memories. I was very proud to see how happy he was to spend time with my daughter Lyla, one of his eighteen great grand children. He made me feee welcome to the family from the moment I shook his hand. From the 4pm glasses of vino he offered, to watching the Oklahoma vs Texas game on Saturday afternoon, the short amount of time I knew him was enough to understand why everyone loves Grandpa Kerman so much. My sincerest condolences to all of my extended family for your loss. Thank you for your service Kerman and may you rest easy!
Most sincerely,
Steven Walsh
