Dear Jerry, Kay Dell, Gayle, Neil, and other sons and family,

My heart is broken for you, and I just don’t have the words to express how I feel. Kathy Jo came to work with me, and we bonded immediately … As colleagues, friends, and a strong sisterly feeling. I met most of you, and from many heart to heart conversations, and at times a few tears, I was always aware of her deep love for each of you individually, and of her deep faith. Kathy Jo made a great impact on education in OK, GA, NC, and actually across the nation, thus having a positive impact on thousands of lives from the classroom to her various leadership roles.

I have little memories of her around my house by way of ornaments, plaques, and photos. But mostly, I do … And will always … hold many special memories together close to my heart. I am so blessed that I got to share very closely in several years of Kathy Jo’s life … years that will forever be very dear to me, and among my greatest treasures.

But right now my concern is for each of you. I know it has been a hard and emotional couple of years, especially in the last days. Your emotions are raw, and you are physically spent. I’m sorry that I will not be able to be there with you Monday. However, I will pause at that time, and have my own quiet time as I celebrate the life of my dear friend and sister in Christ.
I pray that now and in the days ahead our amazing and loving God will wrap you up in His arms, holding you close, as He breaths strength, peace, courage, comfort, and assurance into your heart and every pore as only He can.

Never hesitate to reach out if you need me.
Message me on FB, or get my contact info from KJ’s phone.
Much love and hugs from Georgia … KC
“Fly High, Princess … I’ll see you again one day.”

Condolences, thoughts and prayers from Kathy Jo’s North Carolina family.

    1. Thank you! Our hearts are heavy but we rejoice she is at peace & suffering no more! She loved her career in education & all the people she met!

  3. We are all saddened by the passing of Kathy Jo. She was a wonderful person who had a passion for Career and Technical Education. She was a leader at the state and national levels within OKACTE, GACTE, NCACTE, and ACTE. Her impact will continue on for many years to come. May God comfort you all at this difficult time.
