Kathryn Louise Kent
1939-2013
Kathryn Louise Kent was born in Rapid City, SD on April 6th, 1939. She passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2013, at her home in Guthrie, OK. Kathy grew up in Long Beach, California where she used to sail with her parents along the coast. She graduated from Poly Tech High School with honors. On her senior trip, she traveled around the United States visiting all the historical monuments of our country. She loved this trip and told many stories about it. After high school, she married Donald Kent. They had four children, Donna Elam, David Kent, Michael Kent, and Mary Conn. She raised her children in Norco, California. Kathy spent her whole life working hard and dedicating her life to her family, her career, and, most importantly, helping out the ones she loved. She retired from Olive Crest Group Home as the senior group home manager in 2002. After she retired, she moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma, where her eldest daughter lived. Here Kathy really discovered her love for the country life, most of all, her love for mowing. Kathy touched so many lives in her journey. She loved her grandchildren and her animals more than anything. She was spunky, vibrant, and she was always so full of compliments. She played a huge role in so many lives. She was truly one of a kind, and she will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Elizabeth Crowther, brother, Robert Crowther, daughter, Donna Elam, and son-in-law, Thomas Elam.
She is survived by her son, David and his wife, Brenda, their children, Amanda Aceves and Katie Armstrong; her son, Michael, his children, Tanner Kent, Cannon Kent, and Hannah Kent; and her daughter, Mary, and her children, Elizabeth Kent, Kristen Holzbaugh, and Terika Scott plus many great-grandchildren and her beloved dog, Oscar.
In honor of Kathy’s wishes for no funeral, there will be a memorial burial on July 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Summit View Cemetery in Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Was thinking about Donna and all the fun we had growing up. Kathy was a big part of it. My thoughts are with all the Kent Family.
