Kathryn “Kaye” L. Mangold
1915-2013
Kathryn (Kaye) L. Mangold, age 97, died Wednesday, May 16, 2013, at Bradford Village care facility in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was born November 14, 1915 in Fennimore, Wisconsin to William (Will) and Ethel (Lewis) Morrison. Kathryn grew up in Fennimore and Dubuque, Iowa where she graduated from high school and the University of Dubuque. She and Glenn Mangold were married on May 11, 1936. She took pride in her education as a teacher and her later nursing career. Kaye, as Glenn called her, was a positive role model as wife and mother, supporting her family and friends with love and kindness. With a lifelong commitment to the Methodist Church, she was a woman of strong faith in God. She enjoyed church activities, playing the piano, singing and directing choirs, reading, working at the Edmond hospital as a “pink lady,” and the companionship of fellow educators in Kappa Kappa Iota. After moving to Edmond in 1984, she developed wonderful friendships with the women from her Forum Sunday School class and the Lydia Circle at the First United Methodist Church. She often said that moving to Edmond began a new adventure in her life.
