Kathryn Anne Fisher

Kathryn Ann Fisher

1931 – 2024

Kathryn Anne Montgomery Fisher, age 93, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully October 16, 2024. Born in Independence, Missouri and raised in Oklahoma City, she attended Lee Elementary, Capitol Hill Junior High, and was a 1949 graduate of Capitol Hill High School. She also attended Central State College in Edmond.

Kitty, as she was known by her friends, was married to Wallace R.”Wally” Fisher for 59 years until his death in 2018. Kitty and Wally had no children of their own, so she became a second mother and “really fun aunt” to her nephew, nieces, and great nieces.

She retired from Southwestern Bell in 1986 after 35 years’ service,  most of those years as a member of management.

After retirement, Kitty enjoyed knitting decorative custom sweaters for family members, friends of family members, and well, just about everyone! She enjoyed going to lunch with her lifelong friends or with the ladies from her church. Although she enjoyed cooking, many evenings you could find her and Wally dining at Luby’s Cafeteria or at the Heart Hospital Cafeteria.

Kitty enjoyed reading her bible and was a long-time member of Village Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mabel Swails, stepfather, Delbert Swails, father Tom Montgomery, and brother Bill L. Montgomery. As well as nieces, Lisa Montgomery Wooster, Dena Montgomery Duncan, and nephew, Randy Montgomery.

She is survived by niece, Cindy Montgomery Lower.

Graveside services will be held Friday, October 25, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.
