June Loretta Seales

June L. Seales was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma on October 21, 1 935.  She attended Idabel schools, graduating high school in 1954.  She attended Southeastern State University for a while before moving to Oklahoma City. She briefly worked in modeling and was a runner-up in a beauty pageant. She worked as a secretary on Tinker Air Force Base until she married Karrol Spence in 1957.  She raised four children and assisted her husband with secretarial support in his architectural office.

June and Karrol divorced in 1977.  She married Curtis L. Seales later that year.  They enjoyed boating on the lake, socializing with friends and family, and vacationing. June studied interior design and worked as a designer for a short while.  Mainly, she added the title Grandma to her resume, and it was her favorite role in life. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and spent many hours dressing up, having tea, and hiding treasure in her many treasure boxes she kept around the house for the children to find.  She was very devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

June passed away on September 17, after a sudden illness. She is survived by her son Randy Spence and his wife Alexis, her son David Spence and his wife Brenda, her daughter Kim Laird and her husband Ken, her daughter Kelly Castleman and her husband Keith, and her daughter Shelly Seales.  She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Betty Gibson. She is missed by many grandchildren, including Lyssa Spence, Cody Spence, Caelin Laird, Jordan Spence, Cole Creson, Angeline Owens, and Cally Kirby. She also has four great-grandchildren,  Tiernan and Ellie Kirby, and Tyler and Diego Romero.

There will be a viewing at Matthews Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 21st, 4-8 p.m.  June’s funeral will be Wednesday, September 22nd, 10 a.m. in the Matthews chapel.
