June Brainard
1924 – 2023
We are sad to announce the passing of June W. Brainard of Edmond on 15 January 2023 at the age of 98. June was proud of her work as a Rosie the Riveter during World War II, working in an ammunition plant. Later in life she was day manager at the Cline Hotel in Oklahoma City. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her time in Jerusalem and China. June taught herself to play piano and loved writing her own songs. June is preceded in death by her husband Calvin and her six siblings. She is survived by son Tommy (Julie) Brainard of Apache Junction, AZ and daughter Jana (Byron) Bolvin of Edmond and her five grandchildren Bronson (Robin) Bolvin, Rachael (Brad) Pierce, Amy (Mike) Korb, Amber Cain, and Ryan Brainard. She is also survived by six great grandchildren—Morgan and Bradley Pierce, Benjamin and Sydney Bolvin, Rylee and Reese Cain.
Graveside services will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, day and time are to come.
