February 3, 1942 – January 5, 2018

Edmond Judy Kay Flynt, 75, was surrounded by family when she passed away peacefully on January 5, 2018. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly remembered. Judy was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Leo and Dorothy (Ward) Griffin, where she grew up with sisters Eleanore, Linda, and Patty and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. She moved to Oklahoma City in 1961, where she attended and completed training to become a registered x-ray technologist. In 1965 she married Don A. Flynt and they enjoyed 52 years of companionship until her passing. In 1969 they had daughter Angela Dawn Flynt, and in 1972 son Chad Alan Flynt. They raised their children in Edmond and attended First United Methodist Church for many years. Late in life they attended New Covenant United Methodist Church in Edmond. Maintaining a “close-knit” family was Judy’s highest priority. She was devoted to her mother Dorothy, and along with her sisters, stayed warmly attached to her until Dorothy’s passing. Judy loved giggling with her sisters and her friends “The Girls.” She also cherished being in the company of her husband, children and grandchildren. In 1999 when Chad, who now resides in Monett, MO., married wife Celeste Ann Losack, Judy and Don welcomed grandson Trenton Paul Losack to the family, who is now 28 years old. Judy was later blessed with, and adored, grand-children Bailey Marie Flynt, 16, Payton Ann Flynt, 14, Macey Dawn Flynt 12, and Cale Alan Flynt, 8.

Judy is survived by her husband Don A. Flynt, daughter Angela D. Flynt and her companion Angela R. Merryman, son Chad A. Flynt, daughter-in-law Celeste A. Losack-Flynt, grandchildren Trenton Losack, Bailey, Payton, Macey, and Cale Flynt, her sisters Eleanore Smith and husband Bill, Linda Chatton and husband Tim, and Patty Henderson, as well as eleven nieces and nephews.

Judy was very gentle hearted and loved animals, especially those in need of love and a home, therefore the family hopes that in lieu of flowers, you will make a donation in her name to Free to Live of Edmond, the Humane Society of Oklahoma (from whom they adopted Charlie) or any animal charity.

Services will be held at 2:00 on Tuesday, January 9th at New Covenant United Methodist Church 2700 S. Boulevard, Edmond. The interment will be at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.

Don, sorry for your loss to you and your family. We try to remember the good times when Judy was with us. The times 50 years ago back on 106 street when there were Don & Roberta, Terry & Pat, John & Sharon, Jerry & Virginia, and Don & Ralene. Sorry we can’t be with you in this time of loss.
    Sincere sympathy,
