Judith A. Morrison

1940-2024
Judy Morrison’s love for travel, OSU football games, her church community and volunteer work shared one thing in common: an opportunity to gather, smile and laugh with those she loved, whenever and wherever she could. Judy made friends everywhere she went. Kindness, humor and hospitality were her gifts to all she met and knew.
Judith A. (Judy) Pinion Morrison was born March 9, 1940 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the only daughter of Floyd C. and Wilma Lewis Pinion. A proud Tulsan, she grew up in the shadow of her father’s manufacturing business and was a member of Edison High School’s first graduating class.
She went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, another one of Judy’s loves. Judy made many lifelong friends as a Theta, including Mary Dee Morrison, who would eventually become her sister-in-law and with whom Judy shared a special bond. It was at OSU that Judy met Wesley W. (Wes) Morrison, who she later married in the Sharp Chapel on the campus of the University of Tulsa on a cold winter night in January of 1963.
After getting married, the two spent time in Stillwater, Fort Sill, Dallas and then Houston, raising two sons along the way. In 1976, the family relocated to Edmond, where they have lived since that time.
Judy cherished being a wife, mother of two, and grandmother of four (who affectionately called her “Honna”), loving her family, friends and neighbors, and serving God.
She took great pride in her work as a Medical Assistant with the Otologic Medical Clinic in Oklahoma City for 13 years, where patients, doctors and staff members became her friends.
Throughout her life, Judy believed in serving others. She was a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond and helped start Hope Center and the Edmond Women’s Club. She also volunteered with Infant Crisis Services in Oklahoma City. Judy was a member of P.E.O. and served one term as president of the Kappa Alpha Theta Oklahoma City Alumnae chapter. Judy loved to sing, finding a home with her church choir. Bible studies, church retreats and Cowboy football games filled her life further.
Judy’s curiosity and fondness for travel took her to Japan, England and Scotland, France, Israel, and Alaska, as well as on cruises down the Rhine River and the Hudson River Valley. Family vacations to the Texas Gulf Coast, Colorado, Wyoming, and Washington’s San Juan Islands brought her much joy and created memories that lasted a lifetime.
Judy’s life on this earth was completed on September 8, 2024 in her memory care apartment at Touchmark at Coffee Creek. Her family is grateful to the Touchmark community for the love, kindness and care she received there. She is survived by Wes, their son Ward, wife Kirsten of Seattle and grandsons Wyatt of Los Angeles and Cooper of New York City; their son Todd, wife Kate, grandson Kemper and granddaughter Quinn of Falls Church, Virginia, and niece Susan Green, husband Ron and their children of Tulsa. Judy was predeceased by her parents, her brother Gilbert Pinion, and sister-in-law Mary Dee Morrison. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Edmond.
Judy was a very dear friend to the Pipes family. She was the definition of class, a beautiful lady who cared for others. My heart goes out to all family and friends.
Love, Cyndi Pipes
