Joshua Jones

Joshua JonesJones, Joshua

1999-2015

Joshua Theron Jones was born on February 15, 1999 in Tulsa Oklahoma to parents Jason Kyle and Kyrsten R. Jones.  He was taken suddenly to be by his lord’s side Tuesday morning December 1, 2015 at the age of 16.  Joshua was proceeded in death by his father and is survived by his mother Kyrsten, her husband Jason W. and brothers Seiya Jones, Jordan Givens, Korbin Jones, Jacob Givens and sister Jalagi Givens and many other relatives too numerous to name. While Joshua’s time on earth was limited, his impact will leave a lasting impression on all those that knew him.  A naturally shy and bashful boy, for those that he trusted and allowed into his life he was a generous, kind and vibrant soul full of life, love and adventures to conquer.  A young many of numerous interests and talents, he had a passion for soccer and cars.  While he played other sports throughout his life he had a natural talent for soccer and a desire to improve every day.  From the early age of 3 years old this talent was shared and cultivated by his father Jason K. and older brother Seiya.  A talent which culminated with a spot on the Edmond Memorial High School Varsity Team his Sophomore and Junior years.  His love for the game lead to long hours with family and friends on the soccer field fine tuning his skills beyond what was required by his coaches.  Joshua inherited his father’s love of cars, and with the guidance of his grandfather Earl Theron Jones he spent over a year restoring a 1973 Ford Maverick into his pride and joy.  His passion for cars was evident by the time and resources he spent on the maintenance and upkeep required of this classic car.  He enjoyed tweaking the engine to get just the right sound or finding the perfect spot to photograph the awesomeness of his first car.  In recent months he had started the process of bringing new life to his father’s 1966 Ford Fairlane, and goal of his since his father’s passing.  If soccer and cars were his passion, fishing was life.  Every day was a good day to fish and he was always willing to join his brother Korbin and friends fishing or scoping out new ponds with large fish potential.  His rod, reel and tackle box readily accessible at a moment’s notice.  Never satisfied with just the story of the catch, the proof was in the photos he kept as trophies.

Joshua is loved and will be missed forever and always.  Pallbearers will be Braxton Pickard, Jameson Milburn, Parker Smith, Zak Zuk , Landon Cunningham Blake Bogle, Daniel Randolph, Donovan Petties. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Armstrong Cody Albright, Miles Dorsey, Cole Dorsey, Ryan Givens, Noah Givens, Matthew Rudie, Nathan Rudie Kyle Nelson and the Edmond Memorial Soccer Team. A formal visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Memorial Road Church of Christ with burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery.

I saw Joshua a couple weeks ago, driving his beautiful car, on 15th street, near the school. I gave him a big thumbs up, he smiled and looked pleased that I noticed his car.
My heart sank when I saw that it was him involved in that awful wreck.

    God bless you all.

    Dear Jason and Family,

I’m so very sorry for your loss. We have friends in common that I didn’t realize…sons of my friends that were friends with Josh. He had many friends and was loved and well thought of.
