1990-2017
Joshua Dale McCleery was born in Provo, Utah on March 29, 1990. Joshua was taken from us on Feb. 8, 2017 after a year-long battle with Melanoma. He was a son, brother, grandson, boyfriend, and friend to be proud of.
Joshua graduated from Edmond North High School in 2008. He was an eager learner from childhood through manhood. He was double majoring in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering at UCO and was only 2 credit hours from earning both of his degrees. He was employed by Johnnies and turned down management duties many times to pursue his education. He started when he was in high school and worked through his college years. When he got his first car, in order to keep it running, he went to auto mechanical school. Afterwards, he purchased a Mustang which he was very proud of. He spent a lot of his time helping others from mowing on Granddad Dale’s riding mower to being an overall jack of all trades for his whole family. He was in love with Allison and had planned to marry her after college. He was bright, courteous and helpful to others.
Survivors include; parents Jeff and Jill McCleery, brother Jaycob McCleery, girlfriend Allison Di Donato, grandfather Jack Collins and loving uncles, aunts, and cousins. Joshua was preceded in death by grandparents Dale McCleery, Linda McCleery, and Joyce Collins, and uncles Mark McCleery and Jay Collins.
Services for Joshua are set for 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 17, 2017 at Matthews Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation.
So very sorry to read of your son’s passing.
Blessings to you and your family, Jill.
