pickle steveOn Sunday, May 25, 2014, John Steven Pickle stepped into Heaven and said “Hi, my name is Steve”.

John Steven Pickle was born on May 4, 1971 to Johnny Roy and Teresa Gray Pickle.  He passed to his greater life on May 25, 2014.  He was 43 years old.

Steve was a lifelong resident of Edmond, Oklahoma.  He attended Edmond Public Schools and graduated from Belle Isle High School in 1992.  After graduating, he worked at Dale Rogers Training Center in Oklahoma City until his retirement in 2012.  After Dale Rogers, he attended Oklahoma Foundation for the Disabled.

Steve participated in Oklahoma Special Olympics for many years. He played softball with AnyOne Can Softball League in Oklahoma City.

A special pleasure was Camp at Make Promises Happen in Guthrie – He enjoyed traveling especially to visit family.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, John Pickle, paternal grandparents, Jack and Goldie Pickle, and maternal grandfather Willard Gray.

He is survived by his mother, Teresa Pickle and brother Jared Pickle of the home, his brother David Pickle, sister in law Victorea Pickle and nephew Roy Pickle, Grandmother Gene Gray, Childress, TX., uncle Keith Gray and wife Johnna, Childress, TX., uncle James Gray and wife Sheri, Childress, TX, uncle Jack Pickle and wife Lana, Broken Arrow, OK, aunt Barbara Chaffin and numerous cousins who he dearly loved.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 Highland Park Baptist Church, Edmond, Oklahoma with interment to follow at 2:00 p.m. at  Little Cemetery, Seminole, OK.

  1. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all; Teresa, David and Jared. Steve was such an example to all of us to put a smile on your face and get up and go. He was such a sweetheart and always had something nice to say. Steve made everyone feel good about themselves. He was an example for others to follow and will truly missed by family and friends.

    I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of Steve. Please I’d love to see Jared soon, I went to Santa Fe with him and would love to come see him!
