John L. Bennett

John Luther Bennett, 72, of Edmond, OK, passed away at his home from pancreatic cancer on May 2, 2023. He was born on October 23, 1950, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Jack and Nancy Bennett.

John served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years. He was a proud veteran who dedicated his life to serving his country. After his military service, John went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Central State University.

John was an avid car enthusiast and spent much of his free time tinkering with cars. He had an extensive collection of cars and car parts and was always on the lookout for his next project.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Lucinda (Cindy); sister, Marilyn Leonard and husband, Joseph; brother, Robert (Bobby) Bennett; nephew, David Garrett and wife, Jessica; nephew, Daniel Garrett and wife, Ashley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Nancy Bennett.

A ceremony to honor John’s life will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Crossings Community Church OKC.

    Cindy, This was such a beautiful service, the pastor did such a nice sermon. “Mary did you know” is one of my most favorites too!
