1944-2021

Age 77 died peacefully surrounded by family on July 08, 2021 from an unexpected illness.

Joe was born on February 21, 1944 in Odessa Texas to Ernest and Thelma Wagoner and was raised in Edmond Oklahoma. Graduated Edmond Memorial in 1963. Joe joined the US Air Force in 1965 and served honorably till 1968.  Joe married the love of his life Rochelle on September 11 1971. They were happily married for 49+ years. Joe and Rochelle adopted their son Jeremy in 1977. Joe has resided in the Edmond area for the last 19 years at their present address and has made numerous friends along the way.   He is a member of the Quail Springs United Methodist Church.

Joe was proceeded in death by his parents Ernest and Thelma Wagoner, brothers Jim and Lon Wagoner, sister Barbara Del Rio, and son Jeremy Wagoner.  Joe is survived by his wife Rochelle Wagoner, sister-in-law Nancy Wagoner, nephews and nieces Nathan and Rebecca Kirk, Shane Bailey, Dale and Beverly Wagoner, Ron and Mary Wagoner, Steven and Mary Wagoner, and Kelly and Elizabeth Wagoner. Joe has 19 great nieces and nephews and 20 great-great nieces and nephews and was loved by numerous extended family and friends.

Joe spent his time fishing, collecting rare coins and had an avid interest in the Civil War era including visiting numerous battlefields and memorials along with recreating them in his dioramas. He enjoyed playing and beating his nephews and great nephews in chess and other special board games.

Memorial contributions can be made to Quail Springs United Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Quail Springs United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, OK.
