Joanne Louise Riffle, 88, died Sunday, May 29, 2016 in Edmond, Oklahoma following complications related to pneumonia. Born November 16, 1927 in Dennison, Ohio to Carl E. Richard and Thelma L.(Stout) French, she was a 1945 graduate of Dennison High School.
On September 9, 1946 she married Edward J. Riffle, they were married for 65 years. They were the parents of six children: Marcia (Cale) Kidd of Plain City, OH; Edward (Olga) Riffle of Katy, TX; Margaret Taylor (Rodger Desreuisseau) of Colrain, MA; James (Sandy) Riffle of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; J. Matthew (Danna) Riffle of Seminole, OK; and Ann (Grady) Winstead of Beaufort, SC. Fourteen grandchildren include Rick Kidd (Tim Brendle), Mark (Tricia) Kidd, Samantha Riffle (Felix Natschiski), Michael (Mary) Riffle, Julia Riffle, Bella Riffle, Mia Taylor (Tim Canon), Matthew Desreuisseau, Erin Riffle, Katie Riffle, Scott Riffle, Schahara Riffle, Ryan (Sarah) Riffle, and Craig Capano. In addition, are great-grandchildren: Karley Kidd, Kyle Kidd, Brigit Taylor, Isabel Canon, Malinda Riffle, Joe Riffle, Phyllip Riffle, Gracie Martinez, Jack Martinez, Chris Wise, Mariah Riffle, Bryce Riffle and Blake Riffle. She is also survived by her brother, John French of Centennial, CO, several nieces and nephews including her sister’s “four girls” and their extended families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, siblings: Peggy, Jimmy, Lois, Dean, Mary Ellen, and Helen, and her parents. The family was assisted by Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK.
We will celebrate her life with services at the Congregational Methodist Church in Seminole, OK on Friday June 3rd, at 2 PM. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dewayne Jackson.
