Jimmye M. Bowles (Knight)

September 12, 1944 – March 14, 2021

Age 76, died peacefully in her home on March 14, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Jimmye was the oldest daughter of the late James and Virginia Moore born on September 12, 1944, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was one of four children who lived as Airforce “brats” traveling across the country living in Tacoma, Washington; Reydon, Oklahoma; Pensacola, Florida; and Okinawa among other places. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she met the love of her life, Robert Frazier Knight Sr., who preceded her in death on July 1, 2002. They were happily married for 38 years. She is survived by her current husband, Bobby Bowles, who she was married to for the last 17 years. They enjoyed traveling together, attending Spring Creek Assembly church, and playing dominoes with friends.

Throughout her life, Jimmye cared for others: her children, customers at Knight’s Pharmacy in Big Spring, TX, and their foster babies. Along with caring for others, Jimmye was known for her green thumb, always having beautiful gardens and house plants she was proud of, and her love of reading. Jimmye was also strong in her faith. Her relationship with Jesus was an important part of her life, and she loved sharing her faith with others through her card ministry at Spring Creek Assembly. There truly aren’t words to describe the influence and love she gave throughout her life. She was a woman of God, a mother, grandmother, Mimi, sister, and best friend. The world will not be the same without her.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Bowles, her siblings: Terrye Robertson and husband Gordon, Sterling Moore and wife Sue, and Scott Moore. Her children: Vincent F. Marcheselli IV and wife Rayvonne, Tori Dugger and deceased husband Mike Dugger, Kevin Knight and wife Cassie, Kelleigh Knight-Whitten and husband Tyler, Jordan Brawner and husband Travis, and Bobby Bowles Jr. Her grandchildren: Vincent F. Marcheselli V (Zo), Zachary, and Zeno Marcheselli, Chelsea Wilson and husband Cade, Roper McDonald, Micah Cross and husband Cody, Daulton Dugger, Allisha Knight, Jaxon, Mason, Lincoln, and Haydon Brawner, and Brayden and Josiah Bowles. Her great-grandchildren: Tynlea, Cyndea, Aynslea, and Whitlea Wilson, Veda McDonald, Kanyon and Kolman Cross, and Hailynn Dugger, and several nieces and nephews.
