Jimmy Wayne Hatchel, 77, died April 29, 2018, with his family by his side in Edmond, Oklahoma.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 2nd at Fairview Baptist Church in Edmond, with a graveside service in Arcadia.
Jimmy was born May 3rd, 1940, in Edmond to James Henry & Violet Adeline (Overstreet) Hatchel. He spent his life in the building industry, selling and delivering for companies; Oklahoma City Plywood, Boise Cascade, and Hope Lumber.
Jimmy spent his summers tending his garden and raisin calves. He graduated high school in Wellston in 1958 where he played baseball and basketball. Jimmy moved to Oklahoma City where he met his wife of 56 years Linda Rae (Moore). Then moved to Edmond and continued to raise his family.
Jimmy is a Christian and was active in church. Most recently, Fairview Baptist of Edmond, where he served as a deacon and had notoriety for his greeting everyone as they arrived.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings; Phillis Anne, Joel Dale, & Rosie Mohring. He is survived by his wife Linda, one sister Becky Lynn Quinn, 3 children and their spouses; Allan & Jannett Marvin, Richard & LaDonna Strong, Jimmy Jr & Diane. His six Grandchildren are Austin, Caleb, Mikayla, Mariah, Dylan, & Dalton; and Great Granddaughter Brooklynn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donating to the Alzheimer’s Association or Fairview Baptist Church.
