Jimmy Bridges
1933 – 2021
Jimmy Dale Bridges, a longtime resident of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away April 6, 2021 at OU Medical Center- Edmond.
Born November 13, 1933 in a farm cabin outside Joplin Missouri to the late Roy and Lottie Bridges, Jimmy graduated from Seneca High School. There he met and married the love of his life the late Virginia L. Bridges. For 62 years of marriage, they raised three children in the Edmond area. Family and friends were Jimmy’s greatest joy. He was a member of the Henderson Hills Baptist Church.
He graduated from high school and then served in the United States Air Force with the 3920th Air Base Group as an Airman First Class. He then worked for years with Addressograph Multigraph Corporation until he started two different successful private partnership businesses. But his greatest achievement was being a wonderful husband, greatest Dad and Grandfather to walk the earth.
He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia L. Bridges, parents Roy and Lottie Bridges, Brother Don Bridges killed in action serving in WWII, Brother Fred Bridges, Brother Robert Bridges and survived by his Sister Mary Lee Cole and her husband Lewis Cole of Neosho Missouri.
He is survived by his children Shelia Bridges Reynolds, Christopher Scott Bridges and Jill Bridges Strother, his six grandchildren; Quintin Reynolds, Justin Reynolds, Bailey Bridges, Bowen Bridges, Allie Guarnera and Jake Strother, all of Edmond Oklahoma.
A private family graveside service will be held at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
