Jesse Murray Jr. passed away peacefully in his home in Edmond OK on Sunday August 26^th 2018. Jesse was born in Cushing Oklahoma Oct. 8^th 1925 to Jesse Murray and Myrtle Alice (Phillips) Murray in Cushing Ok. Jesse started his career with SW Bell in July 1950 as a Frameman and retired in 1984 as an Outside Plant Engineer after 34 years of service. In 1946 he met his future wife Beverly Emig on a blind date at Katz Drug Store and married her 2 yrs later on Jan 31 1948. They stayed in love and happily married for 70 years. During that marriage Jesse and Beverly had 5 children, Linda, Shirley, Steve, Carol and Larry. Jesse began building his and Beverly’s dream house in Edmond starting in 1961 building it piece by piece for 5 years and finally finished in the summer of 1966. Since Jesse enjoyed hunting and fishing his building habits continued and he began the “lake house” project on the newly formed Lake Eufaula in Eastern Oklahoma. He finished that in 1971. Many summer days he spent with Beverly at the lake house which is still in the family. Jesse was also an Avid OU Football and OKC Thunder Fan watching every game. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Myrtle, 1 Brother Lewis Murray from Albany Oregon, 1 child Shirley Murray from the home, He is survived by his wife of 70 years Beverly, Brother John Murray from Scio Oregon, 4 Children, Linda Muller and husband Brian from Newport Ritchie FL, Steve Murray and Wife Debbie from Edmond, Carol Husmann and husband Ron from Guthrie, Larry Murray and wife Cheryl from Guthrie. 6 Grandchildren, Cody Murray Edmond OK, Kym Ballenger Edmond OK, Rochele Sinder OKC, Jennifer Glaze Celina TX, Amanda Shipley Guthrie OK and Kortnie Van Wechel Guthrie OK. He also had 11 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Thursday August 30^th at 10:00 AM at Matthews Funeral Home 601 S. Kelly Edmond OK. Public viewing will be Weds Aug 29^th from 12:00 PM till 8:00PM at Matthews.
