Hello to the family of Jerry Poston. I’m so sad to hear of your loss.
I met Jerry in the sixth grade at Culbertson grade school on N.E. 13th street, in OKC. Jerry was a very nice person, and made a lasting impression on a gal raised in Walnut Grove in South OKC which is now Devon Energy’s sports area. I am glad I knew him those many years ago, and comforted to know he is with our Lord Jesus Christ. We also lost another sixth grader from long ago (just last week), Owen Lafferty. Sherrell, we do not know each other, but I will be thinking of you at this time. Beverly (DePue) Young

  2. I am so sorry to hear that “JI” has passed, not for him, but for Sherril,
Jr., his remaining family and friends, including myself and my wife Nancy who knew him so well and his wife Sherril. He was such a wonderful mentor of mine and the reason I excelled in my career in the business he had mastered and actually was able to grow to the same management level as he. That could have never happened without his example, his commitment to excellence and integrity that I saw in him. The stories he told me from his past are way to many to tell, but the impact they had on me are eternal.
My wife Nancy and me found “JI” and Sherrill to be so kind to us when Nancy had just given birth to our second son Alex. There were complications with Nancy and our newborn son. They were both still in the hospital. Sherrill and Jerry offered to take care of our son HARRISON so I could work and spend time between work and wife and son. I remember picking HARRISON up and seeing that he had opened every cabinet door in the kitchen and all pots, pans, etc, were on the floor. I apologized to Sherrril and she said'” he’s just been exploring, I don’t mind, it’s been fun.” If you read this Sherril, HARRISON unfortunately passed away almost the same time as Jerry from a disease we were not aware of previously. He was successfull in life, gratuated from Cornel Universtity in economics. I’m hoping him and “JI” have met in heaven to compare notes. I know where they both are now and look forward to a reunion when it’s time. Blessings to you and all loved ones. Also hope you can see this I’m late to respond because I didn’t know. Happy for Jerry, but so sad for you and me at the moment. If you get this, my email address is Pica342@aol.com. Phone is 716-848-9772. Address is 32 Treehaven Drive Lockport, NY 14092
